HAVERFORD, PA - The Johns Hopkins men's track and field was sixth after day one of the Centennial Conference Indoor Championships. Haverford sits in first with 73 points after day one while Dickinson has 40 points. Six points separate the teams that sit in third through sixth place. Muhlenberg is in third with 26 while the Blue Jays have 20 points.

James Shim finished fourth in the long jump as he reached 6.27m in the finals. Patrick Brandon completed the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:19.83 to finish seventh. Brandon's time was a new school record, breaking the old record by 10 seconds.

The 4x200 relay team of Tristan Thomas, Jason Dubyoski, Pierre Hage and James Walker had a time of 1:33.00 to finish fourth on the day. The distance relay team of Brandon, Christo Tait, Jason Hortiatis and Graham Belton was sixth after posting a time of 10:41.76.

The Blue Jays claimed sixth and seventh in the pole vault as Adam Waddell reached 4.11m and Matt Trachtenberg cleared 3.96m.

Hopkins returns to action tomorrow as the Centennial Conference Indoor Championships conclude with day two's action.
