NEWPORT NEWS, VA - The Johns Hopkins men’s and women’s track team participated in the College Classic as hosted by the Christopher Newport. No team scoring was used.

Sophomore Jason Dubyoski (Upperco, MD/Hereford) led a pack of JHU hurdelers that picked up spots three four and five in the 55-metere hurdles. Dubyoski posted a time of 8.32, while junior Tai Kobayaski (Rolling Hills, CA/Phillips Exeter) finished in fourth at 8.49, and sophomore Tim Pruiett (Somers, NY/Somers) collected a fifth place finish with a time of 8.52.

In the women’s 55-meter dash, sophomore Joseph Grisell (Trinidad West Indies/St. Joseph’s Convent Port-of-Spain) finished in a time of 7.77, good for fifth place. The women’s distance medley relay team posted a time of 13:33.48, good for a fifth place finish.

Junior Garrett Butler (Ridfeley, WV/Franfort) finished fifth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 13"6’. Junior Jason Farber (Amherst, MA/Amherst Regional) picked up a sixth place finish in the men’s 5000-meter run for the Blue Jays this afternoon, in a time of 16:38.01. The Blue Jay’s distance medley relay team also fared well, as they finished in a time of 10:57.95 good for fifth.

The Blue Jay men and women’s track teams will compete again next weekend when they travel to Ursinus to compete in the Colden Invitational.
