SWARTHMORE, PA - Johns Hopkins' top-seeded doubles team of Chanont Vasoontara and Matthew Naftilan won both of its matches Friday to advance to the semifinals of the 2005 Centennial Conference Men's Tennis Championships.

Vasoontara and Naftilan opened with an 8-3 with over Aaron Sussman and Rob Isaacs of Dickinson in the first round before cruising past Jake Wright and Foster Post of Gettysburg, 8-1, in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, the unseeded team of Nick Kennedy and Justin Belisario upset the #2 seed, Haverford's Carl Lederman and Matt Stein, in the first round.

The Blue Jays had just one individual see action in the first round in singles play as Rafael Roberti easily defeated Ronen Kashvin of Washington College, 6-2, 6-2, to advance.

The Blue Jays won the regular season team title for the first time in school history and enter the individual championships with the top seed in both singles and doubles action.

The individual Centennial Championships continue Saturday and Sunday.
