PITTSBURGH, PA - The Johns Hopkins University Men's Swim Team moved into first place at the ECAC Championships at the end of Day Two. In addition, Sophomore Ryan Kim (Seoul, Korea/Georgetown Prep) qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100 Back.

Kim swam to a first place finish in the 100 Back with a time of 50.48, a season-best time, that qualified him for the NCAA Division III Championships. That win, in the final event of the day, propelled the Blue Jays into first place.

Hopkins opened the day with a third place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. Kim, senior Zane Hamilton (Chattanooga, TN/McCallie), junior Keith Parent (Amherst, MA/Amherst Regional) and junior Kevin Walsh (Athens, GA/Cedar Shoals) finished in the second best time of the season for Hopkins, 1:33.98.

Sophomore Matt Fedderly (Baltimore, MD/McDonogh School) followed that up with an NCAA provisional qualification time in the 400 IM. Fedderly finished in 4:07.73, good for second overall. That time pushed Hopkins up into fourth place from sixth.

Next up was the 100 Fly. Senior Sean Kim (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) finished fifth with a time of 50.70, a season-best for him. Senior Chris Itskovich (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) followed in seventh with a time of 51.71 and sophomore Brad Test (Dresher, PA/Germantown Academy) took eighth in 57.80. That performance by the Blue Jays pushed the team up into second place.
