Sept. 26, 2006

BALTIMORE, MD - Junior co-captain Ben McAbee (Hagerstown, MD/North Hagerstown) was named to the D3Kicks.com Team of the Week Tuesday afternoon. It is the second time this season that McAbee received the honor. He was also named to the team on September 12.

McAbee continues to lead the Hopkins offense, scoring four goals and adding an assist for a nine-point week. In the Blue Jays win over Keystone, McAbee scored the sixth fastest hat trick (8:08) in NCAA DIII men's soccer history. He also had a goal against Frostburg State and tallied the assist on sophomore Akash Naik's (Simpsonville, SC/Hillcrest) game-winning goal at McDaniel Saturday. He now leads the team with a career high 19 points on seven goals and five assists.

McAbee ranks second in the Centennial Conference in points per game (1.90) and goals per game (0.70). He also ranks tied for first in assists per game (0.50).

The #13 Johns Hopkins men's soccer team (9-1-0, 2-0-0) hosts the #23 Gettysburg Bullets on Wednesday night in a battle of Centennial Conference unbeaten teams. Game time at Homewood Field is set for 7:00 p.m.
