BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse team will continue its fall schedule on Friday, October 6 when the Blue Jays play Ohio State in the second annual Michael R. Breschi Buckeye Classic at 7 pm Friday night (October 6) at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The event is named in honor of Michael R. Breschi, the late son of Ohio State coach Joe Breschi. Michael Breschi was killed in March, 2004 in a tragic accident in Columbus.

Tickets for the game are $5.00 with all proceeds benefiting the Michael Breschi Scholarship Fund at Ohio State University. The scholarship is awarded annually to a member of the Ohio State men's lacrosse team. Fans who are unable to attend the game can contribute to the scholarship fund by visiting the Ohio State men's lacrosse page at www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com.

"When Ohio State debuted the Michael R. Breschi Buckeye Classic last year I let Joe know that we would be honored to take part in such a wonderful event," Johns Hopkins head coach Dave Pietramala noted. "I had the privilege of playing on the United States National Team with Joe in 1994 and count him as a good friend. To have an opportunity to support his family and the Ohio State men's lacrosse program is very special. This event is about so much more than lacrosse and we are humbled to have been invited."

Traveling to the Midwest is nothing new for Pietramala and the Blue Jays. Last fall the Blue Jays played at Notre Dame and the team also competed against the Irish in October, 2004 in St. Louis. Johns Hopkins last played at Ohio State during the 2002 season.

"We are thrilled to have Dave Pietramala and the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays visiting Columbus for the second annual MRB Buckeye Classic," Breschi stated recently. "We've been friends for quite some time and to have a storied program like Hopkins visit the Buckeye state this fall is an awesome opportunity for Midwest lacrosse fans. When Dave mentioned to me last year his interest in supporting Mike's scholarship and participating in the MRB Classic we immediately set a date that worked for both programs."
