Johns Hopkins-Maryland Tickets On Sale Now
April 10, 2006 BALTIMORE, MD - Tickets for this Saturday's (April 15) men's lacrosse game between Johns Hopkins University (5-3) and the University of Maryland (6-3) are selling quickly and administrators from Johns Hopkins expect to reach a sell-out before game day. As of Monday morning the allotment of reserve-section tickets was nearly sold out and sales of general admission tickets were brisk. Ticket sales for the 102nd meeting between Johns Hopkins and Maryland will be capped at 10,000. Game time is set for 8:00 pm
Fans may purchase tickets one of two ways before Saturday. Individuals may call the Johns Hopkins ticket office (410/516-7490) and reserve their tickets with a credit card (VISA or Master Card) or purchase their tickets in person at the Newton White Athletic Center during regular business hours (9:00 am - 5:00 pm) today through Friday. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted for in-person sales. Only cash and checks are accepted on game day and ticket windows will open at 6:30 pm if the game does not sell out in advance.
All tickets purchased via credit card in advance will be held at the General Will Call window located in the Schelle Pavilion (University Parkway entrance to Homewood Field) on game day. The gates at Homewood Field will open at 6:30 pm on Saturday.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the Hopkins-Maryland game and park on the opposite side of campus. A campus map with available parking lots is available on the Johns Hopkins web site (http://www.jhu.edu/~tour/parking.html). There are over 1,000 parking spots available on campus for game-day parking and fans are especially encouraged to utilize the new San Martin Center. There are over 500 parking spots available in this new parking facility located off San Martin Drive. The San Martin Center is located approximately 300 yards from Homewood Field (a five-minute walk).
The game will not be televised live in the Baltimore area on Saturday (the ABC2 broadcast of the game will be on a tape-delay basis - 1:00 pm Sunday, April 16). The only live broadcast of the game will be on ESPNU. Live local radio coverage will be available on WJFK AM-1300 with the pre-game show starting at 7:40 pm. The radio broadcast will also be available on the official web site of Hopkins athletics (www.Hopkinssports.com), while live stats are also available on the web site.
