MADISON, NJ - Sophomore David Ferguson (New York, NY/Stuyvesant) placed 13th at the 2007 NCAA Fencing Championships this week. Ferguson won 11 of his bouts in the Foil and was the top Division III fencer in that weapon. His 13th place finish is the best by a Hopkins fencer under head coach Austin Young.
Ferguson defeated fencers from UC San Diego, Stanford, Air Force, Duke, Penn, Princeton, Brandeis, Harvard and St. John's. Hopkins finished 23rd in the team standings thanks to Ferguson's 11 points.
