Baltimore, MD - The Johns Hopkins men's fencing team finished in fourth place with 74 victories in the MACFA Championships held March 3.

Drew won the title with 95 victories, followed by William & Mary (84) and Cornell (75).

Sophomore Matt Bouloubasis (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) went 12-1 to lead the Blue Jays' epee squad to a fourth place finish. Junior Dave Kotlyar (Holland, PA/Council Rock) finished 9-4 and freshman Alex Sinofsky (Montclair, NJ/Montclair) went 6-7 as the epee team compiled 27 wins.

The Hopkins foil squad finished second with 29 wins, led by freshman Brian Bishe' (Glen Ridge, NJ/Montclair Kimberley Academy) who went 11-2. Junior Daniel Frank (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) and sophomore Emanuel Strauss (New York, NY/U.N. International School) each went 9-4 in the foil.

Senior Ryan Schwerzmann (Watertown, NY/Watertown) and freshman Sampreet Niyogi (Voorhees, NJ/The Lawrenceville School) each had a 7-5 mark, while freshman James Chen (Boston, MA/Lawrenceville School) went 4-8 as the sabre team finished eighth with 18 victories.

In the individual results, Bishe' went 9-0 to win the foil, Bouloubasis went 7-2 in the epee, and Schwerzmann went 3-6 in the sabre.
