EVANSTON, IL - Sophomore Nick Marchuk picked up a team-high 10 wins while freshman Aaron Fernandes and junior Jason Park went 9-2 and 9-3 as the Johns Hopkins men's fencing team finished 2-2 at the Northwestern Invitational last weekend. The Blue Jays defeated Northwestern 17-10 and Wayne State 15-12 and lost to UC-San Diego 14-13 and North Carolina 16-11.

Foilists Marchuk, freshman Max Yusem and senior Bryan Bishe swept Wayne State 9-0 and edged their three other opponents 5-4 while Fernandes, Park and freshman Jake Sand went 9-0 against Northwestern and defeated Wayne State 5-4 in sabre. Senior Anson Tang picked up four individual wins but the epee squad finished winless at the tournament.
