Box Score

Fort Myers, FL - Junior outfielder Joe Urban (Nanticoke, PA/Bishop Hoban) scored on a wild pitch to cap a two-run top of the ninth as the Johns Hopkins baseball team won its third straight game with a 6-5 victory over Amherst College Monday afternoon.

The Blue Jays entered the ninth inning trailing 5-4, but senior outfielder Mike DePalma (Norwalk, CT/Norwalk) scored on a sacrifice fly by sophomore outfielder Craig Cetta (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) to tie the game before Urban scored the eventual game-winning run.

DePalma led the Hopkins attack by going 5-for-5 (all singles), scoring two runs, and stealing three bases. Sophomore Carl Ippolito (Ewing, NJ/Pennington School) added a home run for the Blue Jays.

Pitcher Sven Stafford (Evanston, IL/Evanston) picked up the win and improved to 1-0 this season.

The Blue Jays, now 7-2 this season, will look to win their fourth in a row Tuesday when they face Wooster at 6 p.m.
