Nov. 28, 2007 ATLANTA, GA - LaSharee Christian scored a game high 18 points to lead the Jackson State Lady Tigers to a 68-60 victory over the Georgia State University Panthers in non-conference action Tuesday night. With the win JSU improves to a 2-3 overall record and GSU falls to a 1-4 mark. Christian went 5-15 from the floor and 7-11 from the free throw line. DeQuisha Davis and Carena Easley also reached double-figure scoring with 14 points each. Davis shot 5-8 from the floor and Easley went 6-10. Easley also finished with a game high six steals. Shay Rawls led the Panthers with 16 points and Danyiell McKeller added 14 points. After falling behind early the Lady Tigers took a 32-29 lead into halftime. In the second half JSU fended off a late GSU rally to claim the win. For the game JSU shot 42 percent from the field and GSU connected at a 38 percent rate. GSU out rebounded the Lady Tigers, but JSU forced 28 turnovers, which led to 34 points. Jackson State will return to action Nov. 30 to participate in the Marshall Tournament in Huntington, WV. |
