Grimm Breaks School Record in Shot Put

Columbus, OH -Loree Grimm (Fort Wayne, IN/Carroll) threw 10.96 meters in the Shot Put at the Ohio State Invitational this past weekend to set a new IPFW record. Grimm's throw broke her own school record of 10.64 meters set in 2005.
The IPFW team also had a stand out performance in the 3000m, placing three runners in the top 7, in a field of 35 runners. Ashley Ritchey (Leo, IN/Leo) placed 2nd, a team high overall, with a time of 10:22.83. Close behind were Crystina Martinez (Valparaiso, IN/Wheeler) with a time of 10:32.05, and Crystal Martinez (Valparaiso, IN/Wheeler) at 10:35.22. They placed 5th and 7th respectively.
Freshman Angie Suel also broke a school record, running 9.63s in the 55m Hurdles.

The team will be competing at the Akron Open on Saturday in Akron, OH.
