Three 'Dons honored as ITA Scholar Athletes
Fort Wayne, IN - Three IPFW men's tennis players were named ITA Scholar Athletes for 2006. Michael Chase Jr., David Lynall, and Landry Nzudie were named as 2006 ITA Scholar Athletes. Chase Jr. took his fourth ITA award this year while Nzudie took home his second. This is Lynall's first ITA Scholar accolade. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.2 or above. To earn ITA Scholar Athlete status a player must be a varsity letterwinner, have a current academic year GPA of a 3.5 or better and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters. "Each season our men's teams continue to show that they will succeed in the classroom and on the court," said Head Coach Eric Burns. "Their success is a testament to their work ethic and our team's overall philosophy. We set high academic goals every year and we reach them. I am proud of their accomplishments." ~Dons~ |
