Volleyball Moves Winning Streak To Five Matches
Oct. 19, 2001 Green Bay, Wisconsin - The University of Illinois at Chicago volleyball team extended its winning streak to five matches with a 30-25, 30-27, 30-19 sweep of UW-Green Bay at the Phoenix Sports Center on Friday night. With the victory, UIC improves to 10-10 on the season, marking their first time at the .500 mark since September 18th. The Flames also improve to 3-5 in Horizon League action. Junior middle hitter Gina Caneva (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) led the way for the Flames with 14 kills and four block assists. Senior Vicki Lublow (Elgin, Ill./Elgin-Larkin) also turned in a solid effort with 11 kills and 13 assists. Freshman setter Dawn Strahanoski dished out 36 assists on the night. UIC will return to action tomorrow as they will face UW-Milwaukee in the Klotsche Center at 4 PM. |
