Chicago, Ill. - Despite a late comeback on Tuesday night, UIC fell short against Wright State at the Flames Athletic Center, 3-1 (16-30, 28-30, 30-25, 31-33). Sophomore Katerina Hanackova led UIC with 18 kills and a career-high 26 digs.

Senior Amanda Kenny and junior Christin Hunt tabbed 14 kills apiece. Hunt also guided the squad with a .225 attack percentage and totaled five blocks. Freshman Epiphany Davis owned a team-high six blocks.

Samantha Connor paced the Raiders with 18 kills and 12 digs. Lexi Leonhard picked up a team-high 21 digs and Becca Awaa powered Wright State at the net with four blocks.

The Raiders recorded a .424 attack percentage in game one to take an early 1-0 advantage (30-16). WSU held the Flames to a .081 offensive clip, while totaling 16 kills and committing only two errors.

Trailing 4-0 in the early stages of game two, UIC sparked a 13-6 run to take a 13-10 lead. Wright State answered late in the frame with a 5-1 run to clinch game two (30-28).

UIC responded in game three, forcing the Raiders to commit 10 errors. Leading by two points (20-18), the Flames posted a 10-7 run in route to a 30-25 victory.

The Flames were two points from forcing the match into a fifth game before Wright State tabbed consecutive points to tie it at 30-30. It took the Raiders two attempts to capture the match victory (33-31).

UIC hosts Butler at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at the Flames Athletic Center The Flames then head to Ohio to face Cleveland State and Youngstown State this weekend.
