Indianapolis, Ind. - Junior Idara Essien gave the women's team an event title in the triple jump in record breaking fashion as the Flames concluded competition at the 2007 Horizon League Championships at Michael A. Carroll Track and Field Stadium.

Essien wasted little time putting her name in the record books as her first attempt at the triple jump was marked at 12.00m, breaking the Horizon League Championship record of 11.95m set back in 2005 by Detroit's Joanna Grandas. Essien's leap would hold up as she would win the league triple jump title for the second straight season.

The women's team would finish in sixth place overall out of the seven teams competing.
