Chicago, Ill.- UIC senior Corey Steven (Wichita, Kan./Kapaun Mt. Carmel) was named the Horizon League Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 20, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Steven picked up a No. 3 singles win over Detroit's Amy Inman with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in UIC's 5-2 win over the Titans.

The senior also teamed with Callan Smith to turn in an 8-3 doubles win over Annie Moore and Kelly Davis at the top spot.

Steven's win against Inman moved her career singles record against Horizon League foes to 28-0.

Steven teamed with Smith again later in the day to pick up a strong 8-6 No. 1 doubles win over Bowling Green's Ashley Jakupcin and Jenna Nussbaum.

UIC returns to action this Saturday at UW-Milwaukee at 4:00 p.m.
