Women's Tennis Drops To Nebraska

Lincoln, Neb.- The UIC women's tennis team put up a good fight, but the Flames were unable to overcome two key injuries on the road as Nebraska picked up a 6-1 win at the Woods Tennis Center on Sunday. Sophomore Grace Gill-Morlis picked up UIC's point during a thrilling three-set match at No. 4 singles. Gill-Morlis rallied from a 6-3 loss in the first frame to win the second set by a 6-2 count and then clinching the victory with a 10-7 win in the tiebreaker. UIC was without the services of Iris Jaklin (illness) and Melanie Humphrey (shoulder) for the weekend. The Flames return to action this Wednesday at Marquette at Helfaer Tennis Stadium in Milwaukee, Wis., beginning at 4:00 p.m.
