Chicago, Ill. - The swimming and diving trio of Tristan Oleynik, Sonia Peterson and Kelly Hashoian were named the Horizon League Divers and Female Swimmer of the Week for the period ending Nov. 19, the league office announced on Wednesday.

The accolades come after a spectacular showing at Saint Louis on November 17.

Oleynik, the team's diving captain, had a banner day on the boards for the Flames, winning both the three-meter and one-meter diving events against the Bilikens. The junior from Wheaton, Ill. tallied a 256.90 in the three-meter competition and set a career best score of 310.90 points against Saint Louis.

Freshman Sonia Peterson placed second in the one-meter dive with 236.60 points and third in the three-meter event with a season-best score of 245.65. Peterson has been the top female diver for the Flames during her freshman campaign.

Kelly Hashoian earns her first Horizon League Swimmer of the Week honor on the heels of breaking the school record in the 500 freestyle with a 5:05.90 effort in Saint Louis.

Hashoian has now broken the 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyle UIC school records in less than a month's time. Her first record-breaking effort was a 10:28.43 1000 free against Wright State on October 26.

15 days later, Hashoian chopped 10 seconds off the 1650 record against Butler, Milwaukee and North Dakota on November 10th, finishing the race in 17:27.44.

All three athletes along with the entire swim and diving squad will head down to Oxford, Ohio to compete in the Miami Invitational on November 29 through December 1.
