Chicago, Ill. - UIC swimming and diving team members Andrea Giczewski and Cameron Seebeck have been named the Horizon League Swimmers of the Week for the period ending January 14, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Giczewski won both the 50- (24.02) and 100-yard freestyle (52.43) at Green Bay on January 12.

A senior sprint freestyle specialist, the senior co-captain has now won either the 50- or the 100-yard freestyle events in all seven dual meets that the Flames have competed in. Giczewski placed fourth in the 50 freestyle and sixth in the 100 freestyle at the highly competitive Miami Invitational in early December to break her five-meet undefeated streak.

This is the third league honor for Giczewski this season, following accolades received on Oct. 15 and Nov. 13.

Seebeck, a sophomore for the Flames, took the top spot in the 50- (21.51) and 100- (46.96) yard free events at Green Bay. Seebeck also swam the third leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay that broke the pool record at Peter F. Dorschel Natatorium with a mark of 3:07.28.

The freestyle specialist from Minnesota is a two-time All-Horizon League First Team honoree by virtue of last years championships, where he was a member of the winning 200- and 400-yard freestyle relay teams.

The Flames are idle until Saturday, January 26th at 1p.m. when UIC hosts Valparaiso at the final home meet of the season.
