Carmel, Ind.- Senior Jessica Darud's backstroke showings and three strong finishes by junior Andrea Giczewski highlighted the UIC women's swimming and diving team's double-dual meet outing against Butler and UW-Milwaukee on Sunday afternoon.

Darud won the 200 backstroke in 2:10.74 and took a close second place in the 100-yard version (1:01.60).

Giczewski had a balanced Sunday showing. The versatile junior took second in the 100 free (:54.01), third in the 200 free (1:59.79) and fourth in the 50 free (:24.81)

Kelly Hyatt and Colleen Dougherty took their usual spots near the top of the standings throughout the meet, joining Giczewski to place 2-3-4 in the 50 free.

Hyatt also placed second in the 100 fly (:52.87).

The distance duo of Shaina Israel and Rachel Funk had a strong meet, with each taking a Top 3 finish in both the 500 and 1000 freestyle races.

Sarah Economides led UIC in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events.

The Flames beat Butler, 180.50-87.50, and lost to UW-Milwaukee by a 201-85 count.

UIC returns home this Saturday to take on Saint Louis at the UIC Natatorium at 2:00 p.m.
