Softball Heads To Madison For Matchup Against Wisconsin

UIC Softball Game Notes in PDF Format Chicago, Ill. - The UIC softball team steps out of Horizon League action to face Wisconsin on Tuesday, April 17 in Madison at 5:00 p.m. The Badgers topped the Flames, 12-1, in five innings earlier this month. Wisconsin leads the series, 6-4. UIC (13-23) is coming off a 4-0 victory over Loyola on Sunday, April 15. The Flames snapped the Ramblers perfect league record with the win. After adjusting her swing last week, sophomore Melissa Marinacci was hot at the plate in the three-game series versus Loyola. Marinacci not only tabbed her first two homers of the season, but the sophomore posted a .714 batting average (5-for-7) with two runs and two RBI. The Badgers (21-13) split against Purdue at home on Sunday. The Boilmakers defeated UW, 4-3, in game one, but the Badgers bounced back with a 6-5 victory in game two. Junior Ricci Robben paces the Badgers with a .355 batting average on the year. Junior Katie Hnatyk owns a team-best two triples, 32 RBI and 10 homers, while senior Samantha Polito leads the squad with 28 runs scored and 38 hits. UIC continues its non-conference schedule on Thursday, April 19 when they host crosstown rival DePaul at Flames Field.
