Chicago, Ill. - The UIC women's basketball team (18-11) faces Cleveland State (8-21) at the Pavilion in a 2007 Horizon League Tournament quarterfinal showdown at the Pavilion on Wednesday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m.

Second-seeded UIC notched both regular-season victories over seventh-seeded Cleveland State.

The last time these two teams meet in conference tournament play dates back to March 8, 2001. UIC handed Cleveland State a two-point loss (65-63) to advance to the second round against UW-Green Bay.

The Flames earned the No. 2 seed after posting an 11-5 league record, which included an 11-game winning streak that broke the previous school record of nine in a row.

All-Horizon League First Team recipient LaShonda Grant paces the Flames this season with a team-best 15.3 points, 2.8 assists and 1.7 steals per game. Grant ranks third in the conference in points and steals, while owning eighth in assists.

Horizon League Newcomer of the Year Kailey Klein leads Cleveland State with 11.0 points per game. Senior Nicole Thomas averages a team-high 7.0 boards per game, while sophomore Stephanie Youdath owns 27 blocks in 15 games.

The winner of the UIC/Cleveland State game will face the winner of the Butler/Youngstown State contest in the semifinals hosted by the highest remaining seed of the tournament.
