Women's Basketball Faces No. 20/21 UW-Green Bay In Final Regular Season Contest

UIC vs. UW-Green Bay Game Notes in PDF Format Chicago, Ill. - The UIC women's basketball team (18-10, 11-4) faces No. 20/21 UW-Green Bay (24-3, 15-0) in its final regular season contest on Saturday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m. The Flames will celebrate this year's five seniors and their careers at UIC with a pre-game ceremony prior to tipoff. This marks the 51st meeting between the Flames and Phoenix. UW-Green Bay leads the series 46-5. The Phoenix topped the Flames, 59-47, in each team's first Horizon League contest this season on December 28, 2006. UIC's 11-game winning streak was snapped by UW-Milwaukee on Thursday night, 89-83. Trailing by 13 points at the half, the Panthers shot 66.7 percent from the field in the second half to score 59 points. Flames' senior LaShonda Grant paced the team with 23 points, while fellow senior Jacquay Holmes notched 21 points and pulled down five boards. Freshman Jessie Miller contributed 14 points and tallied a team-high six assists. No. 20/21 UW-Green Bay enters the game with a 21-game winning streak, ranking as the nation's third-longest streak. Recently, the Phoenix handed Loyola an 18-point loss on March 1, 78-60. Senior Nicole Soulis and sophomore Kati Harty each recorded a team-high 12 points. Sophomore Erin Templin led the team at the boards with six rebounds, while adding ten points in the win. With the No. 2 seed locked up, the Flames are set to host their quarterfinal contest in the 2007 Horizon League Tournament at the Pavilion on Wednesday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m. versus the No. 7 seed.
