Chicago, Ill. - University of Illinois at Chicago senior LeKesha Williams (Oklahoma City, Okla./Midwest City) was named the Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending February 23rd.

Williams averaged 25.0 points, 5.0 steals and 4.5 assists as the 5-6 guard helped propel the Flames to a pair of victories during the week.

The Oklahoma City, Okla., native tallied a career-high 30 points, including 27 in the second half and overtime, to help lead UIC to the 84-81 come-from-behind overtime victory over Detroit at Calihan Hall on Saturday, February 22nd.

Williams opened up the week with 20 points, six assists and four steals in the Flames' 85-80 victory over Cleveland State on Thursday, February 20th.

For the season, Williams is second in the Horizon League in scoring (19.2 ppg), third in steals (2.52 spg), seventh in free-throw percentage (80.4%) and eighth in three-point field goals made per game (1.64).

UIC will be back in action on Wednesday evening, as they will host cross-town rival, Loyola, at 7:00 p.m. in the UIC Pavilion.
