Chicago, Ill. - The UIC women's basketball team return home for three consecutive contests at the UIC Pavilion, beginning with a match-up versus Wright State tonight at 7:00 pm. The Flames fell short in a 55-54 nailbiter versus UW-Milwaukee on Saturday, January 21st at the Klotsche Center. UIC netted 12 unanswered points versus the Panthers in the last four minutes to get UIC within one point, ending with a trey by Krystal Hugelier with 14 seconds left on the clock. After a missed free throw by UWM, the Flames had one last opportunity, but were unable to get a shot off before the buzzer. LaShonda Grant led UIC with 17 points and matched a season-high five rebounds. The Flames enter tonight's contest with a 7-10 overall record and are 3-3 in Horizon League play. Wright State is coming off of an 85-77 overtime loss at Loyola on Saturday, January 21st. The Raiders had all five starters score in double figures, two posting season-highs on the afternoon. The Raiders are 6-11 on the season and 2-5 in conference action. UIC will host Detroit on Thursday, January 26th at 7 pm and then wrap up the week versus Youngstown State Saturday, January 28th at 6 pm at the Pavilion.
