Box Score

Detroit, Mich. - University of Illinois at Chicago senior forward Dejeanette Flournoy posted a double-double with a game-high, 12 points and 15 rebounds, to propel the visiting Flames to their sixth straight win with a 63-48 Horizon League victory over Detroit at Calihan Hall on Saturday afternoon.

Flournoy's 15 rebounds were a UIC team-season high, and helped the Flames to a season-high, 53 caroms.

Senior forward Amber Washington chipped in 11 points off the bench for the Flames, followed by 10 points apiece from LaShonda Grant and Krystal Hugelier.

With the victory, UIC improves to 10-11 overall and puts them in second place in the Horizon League, by virtue of UW-Milwaukee's loss to Youngstown State earlier in the day. Detroit falls to 6-14 on the campaign and 3-6 in conference action.

Defense was the name of the game for the Flames on Saturday, as they held Detroit to 26.3% (15-for-57) shooting from the field and kept Titans' leading scorer, Lindsey Pasquinzo scoreless. Pasquinzo entered the contest, averaging 14.1 points per contest.

Detroit junior guard Katie Solner topped the Titans with 12 points on the afternoon.

UIC will be back in action on Thursday, as they will travel to Rogers Park to take on Horizon League rival, Loyola, at 7:00 p.m. in the Gentile Center.
