Naperville, Ill. - University of Illinois at Chicago sprinters Brandon Cook and Trent Thompson each turned in a runner-up finish to pace the men's track and field squad at the North Central College Invitational on Friday evening.

Cook, a junior, placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.92, while Thompson, a sophomore earned a second-place mark in the 400-meter dash (49.16).

Junior weight specialist Pat Redden rounded out the top-five finishers for the Flames with a fourth-place toss of 45.99 meters in the hammer throw.

UIC will be back in action on Friday afternoon, as they will travel to Bloomington, Ind., to participate in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Regionals.
