Chicago, Ill.- The UIC men's tennis team overpowered visiting IUPUI on Saturday, dominating the Jaguars to win a 7-0 dual match in the second contest of a doubleheader at the UIC Outdoor Courts.

The Flames won their fourth match in a row to mark their tenth victory of the season, improving to 10-7.

Ivan Kovalev was untouchable, winning a 6-0, 6-0 match against Juan Mas at No. 1 singles. Kovalev has now won seven of his last eight matches, all at the top spot.

Karol Zarucki finished his match next with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Marc Pyatt, followed by No. 3 singles player Paul Glendenning's 6-2, 6-2 win over Ross Gehlhausen to clinch the team victory with the fourth UIC point.

Newcomer Enrico Kasjan completed his match soon after Glendenning's win by taking a 6-1, 6-1 win over Greg Fallowfield, while Eric Fey powered his way to a 6-4, 6-3 win over Ronnie Pedro at the fourth spot.

Sean Kreymborg then sent Flames fans home happy with a dramatic tiebreaker win to take a 6-3, 7-6(5) win over Joe Harvath.

IUPUI fell to 3-10 on the year.

UIC went 2-0 on the day with a 6-1 win over Horizon League rival Youngstown State that evened the Flames' conference mark at 2-2.

Saturday's matches also marked the final home match of the season and Senior Day for James Wonneberg and Karol Zarucki.

The Flames journey to the South Side of the city to face Chicago State this Monday at 3 p.m.
