Chicago, Ill.- Next week the University of Illinois at Chicago will welcome the Horizon League's best as the UIC Natatorium hosts the 2004 Horizon League Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships from February 25-28. The action begins Wednesday, February 25th at noon with the women's one-meter diving trials and the men's three-meter diving trials. Swimming finals begin later that day, starting with the 200-yard freestyle relay at 6 p.m. This marks the second time in three years that the Flames have played host to the Horizon League's premier swimming and diving event. The league's 2002 title tilt, the conference's first swimming and diving championship meet under the Horizon League name, was held at the UIC Natatorium. The UIC men's team enters this year's season-ending slobberknocker with a 7-6 dual meet record, posting a 2-3 mark against Horizon League opponents. UIC's women's squad takes a 6-7 overall record into the league championships, going 1-4 in the Horizon League.
