Chicago, Ill. - The UIC men's soccer team will vie for its first league tournament crown since 2000 and look to make a return trip to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday afternoon when the Flames square off with Green Bay in the 2007 Horizon League Tournament Championship at 1:30 p.m. at Loyola Soccer Park. Tickets for the match are $5, while all UIC students can get in free by showing a valid I-Card. There will be a free student fan bus leaving the Flames Athletic Center for the match at 11:45 a.m. Fans who can't make it out to Loyola Soccer Park for the final can watch the contest live via the internet by logging on to www.horizonleaguenetwork.tv. Third-seeded UIC (10-5-5) advanced to the title match with a 1-0 overtime victory over Milwaukee on Friday night with freshman Kevin Stoll netting the golden goal four minutes into the extra session. The Flames, who boast the league's top defense, enter the championship tilt having posted four straight shutout victories. Fourth-seeded Green Bay (11-4-6) is making its second straight appearance in the Horizon League Tournament title game. The Phoenix, who lost in last year's championship to Loyola, avenged that defeat to the Ramblers on Friday, besting the league's regular-season champion on their home pitch. The winner of Sunday's tilt receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The tournament berth would be the second straight for the Flames, who were an at-large selection last season, and mark the program's fourth all-time NCAA appearance. The Phoenix is looking for its first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 1983. Green Bay is the only team in the Horizon League to defeat UIC this season, besting the Flames 1-0 in Wisconsin back on Oct. 18. These two teams last met in the postseason in the 2005 league tournament quarterfinals with Green Bay besting UIC, 3-0. When the Flames last won the league tournament title in 2000, it was the Phoenix that UIC defeated in the championship match by a 3-1 margin.
