Men's Gymnastics Sweeps Every Event En Route To Win Over Air Force

USAFA, Colo.- An all-around victory from junior Tim Morrison and a sweep of the individual events guided the UIC men's gymnastics team to a victory over host Air Force at Cadet West Gym on Friday night. UIC posted a team tally of 199.300 to down the Falcons, who scored a 180.500. Morrison captured the all-around win with a 50.000 score, using event wins on floor exercise (9.2), and high bar (8.85) to post the meet-high all-around tally. Senior Nick Stavros led off with a pommel horse victory, posting an 8.450 to take first place. Phil Goss followed in second (8.3). Morrison was followed on floor exercise by Andrew Krueger's second-place 8.650. On vault freshman Alex Kadar paced the Flames with a first-place 8.9. Kadar would later add a parallel bars win to his total on the night with an 8.2. Brad Trompeter won the still rings event with an 8.850, followed by Stavros' 8.8 to take second. Bobby Solomon came in second on vault with an 8.850 and second on high bar with an 8.45. Morrison closed the meet with a second-place 8.1 on parallel bars. UIC returns to action for a return bout against Air Force on Sunday.
