Chicago, Ill. - The UIC men's basketball team concludes a grueling stretch of five games in 10 days on Saturday afternoon as the Flames welcome Georgia Southern to the Pavilion for a late-season, non-conference affair. Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m. with the contest being aired live on ESPN Radio 1000 AM. The match-up with the Eagles (16-10) is part of both team's participation in the ESPN Bracket Buster Saturday pool. The Flames (12-12), who are looking to snap a two-game losing skid, are 2-0 all-time in ESPN Bracket Buster events. UIC is also 2-0 all-time in contests with Georgia Southern with the last two meetings both coming during the 1994-95 campaign when the Flames and Eagles played a home-and-home series. Georgia Southern features one of the nation's most potent offenses, ranking ninth in the nation in scoring. On the other side of the coin, though, the Eagles rate 294th nationally in team defense. Junior guard Elton Nesbitt leads the Georgia Southern attack. The 5-foot-8 guard is averaging almost 20 points per game and owns the NCAA Division I single-game scoring high this season with 43 points versus UT-Chattanooga. The Flames will counter with senior guard Cedrick Banks, who ranks second in the Horizon League in scoring at 16.9 points per game. Banks is just 39 points shy of 2,000 for his career.
