Chicago, Ill. - The University of Illinois at Chicago men's basketball team was in a sharing mood on Saturday afternoon, as the Flames dished out a season-high 28 assists en route to the 86-64 non-conference victory over IPFW at the UIC Pavilion.

"Right now this is a good way to rebound and comeback after (Thursday's 81-78 loss to UW-Milwaukee)," UIC head coach Jimmy Collins said. "We played unselfish basketball and we played together."

Junior point guard Martell Bailey, who came into Saturday's contest leading the nation with 8.4 assists per game, scored eight points and dished out nine helpers. Senior guard Jonathan Schneiderman tallied 12 points and dished out seven assists.

Junior forward Armond Williams scored a game-high 17 points, while Cedrick Banks (14 points) and Aaron Carr (13 points) each turned in solid efforts for the Flames.

With the victory, UIC improves to 16-7, while the Mastodons drop to 6-20 on the campaign. The win also marks the Flames 11th straight non-conference home victory.

IPFW opened up an early 14-9 lead over UIC, but the Flames responded with a 21-4 run led by seven points from Banks to give UIC a 30-18 lead that they would not relinquish.

DeAngelo Woodall led IPFW with 14 points, while Terry Collins (12 points), Ric Wyand (11 points) and David Simons (11 points) each scored in double-figures for the Mastodons.

UIC will be back in action on Thursday, February 20th as they will travel to Ohio to square off with Cleveland State for a Horizon League tilt at 6:00 p.m. (CST) at the Goodman Arena.
