Chicago, Ill. - The American Baseball Coaches Association announced on Friday that University of Illinois at Chicago pitcher Ryan Gehring (Burlington, Wis./Catholic Central) has been selected to the All-Mideast Regional Second Team.

Gehring, a Horizon League First Team selection, helped lead the Flames to its first-ever NCAA Regional berth this season as the sophomore left-hander went 8-5 with an ERA of 2.73, while leading the squad with 64 strikeouts.

The Burlington, Wis., native holds the best winning percentage in UIC history with a record of 17-6 (.739) in two seasons. Gehring is third in UIC history with a career ERA of 2.76; tied for fourth with 17 career victories; sixth with 12 complete games and tied for 10th with 135 strikeouts.
