Head Coach Mike Welch on Hurst: "Due to team injuries, Katie was asked to play almost every role this past fall, from libero to middle blocker! Once she was able to settle into her starting position as libero, her passing and defense rose to be one of the best on the team. This spring Katie was able to play the outside hitter position all spring. High flying Katie hit a .211 and was second on the team in both kills and passing. Her blocking made great improvements as well. Katie is a great team leader who has a high respect from all her teammates due to the way she gives her all every moment on the court.."
