ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team won its 11th straight match with a 30-24, 30-18, 26-30, 33-31 win over Howard in American Southwest Conference action, Saturday at the Mabee Complex. The Cowgirls cruised through the first two games, before Howard Payne battled back to win the third game. HPU led 28-26 in the fourth game, before the Cowgirls rallied to close out the match. Freshman Cambra led the attack with 18 kills. Chelesea Buetow and Amanda Mace had 15 and 12 kills respectively. HSU had a solid team defensive effort with six different players reaching double figures in dig. Gracen Harris led the way with 20. Megan Pick had 15 kills and Melissa Dennis had 30 digs to pace HPU. HSU us now 14-4 on the year and 11-0 in ASC play. Howard Payne fell to 5-13 overall and 1-10 in league play. HSU closes its home slate on Thursday when it hosts Sul Ross State. |
