Schedule/Results | Roster | News | Archives Cowgirls Fall To Trinity in Four
Sept. 8, 2007
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team pushed No. 7 Trinity, before eventually falling in four games 30-23, 32-30, 24-30, 30-20 to close out the River City Invitational in San Antonio. Amanda Mace led the Cowgirls offense and defense with 14 kills and 22 digs. Freshman Cambra Hughes has 10 kills and hit .429. Amanda Curry had 41 assists and was the HSU representative on the all-tournament team. "We played really well," said first-year head coach Sabrina Bingham."We had about four chances to win game two and didn't get it done and that turned out to be the difference." The Cowgirls are 3-4 on the young season and have played some of the best teams on their schedule. "I am proud of our girls. We played three good teams and we were right there with them this weekend. I think we have a chance to be really good by the end of the year. We have played seven matches and they have been against some very good competition. It will help us as we get into conference play." HSU opens conference play on Wednesday at Howard Payne. |
