ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' had four players named to the National Soccer Coaches Association first-team all-South Region team as selected by the coaches in the region.

Senior midfielder Whitney Piendak, junior defender Laura Newbrough, freshman forward Amy Kuykendall and freshman goalkeeper Christi Carr all were named to the team.

Piendak set the school record with 30 goals on the season and Newbrough and Carr led a great defensive effort for HSU. Kuykendall had 26 goals and a school record 20 assists for the Cowgirls.

HSU went 18-1-5 on the year and advanced to the Sectional Final of the NCAA Tournament.
