Calvin Key Named ASC-West Offensive Player Of The Week

RICHARDSON, Texas - Calvin Key, a sophomore forward for the Cowboys, was named American Southwest Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week on Thursday.

Key led HSU to two-conference victories of Concordia and Mary Hardin-Baylor this past weekend by scoring three goals.

Against Concordia, Key scored two goals in the second half of the game. His first goal was assisted by freshman Chris Garza during the 65th minute of the game and his second goal was unassisted in the 84th minute. He also gained an assist on freshman Mike Yount's first goal of his career.

In the Cowboys last home game of the season against UMHB, Key scored one goal unassisted during the 79th minute of the game.

Key has three goals, two assists, 12 shots, and eight points on the season.

The Cowboys (10-5-1, 6-2-1) will return to action Saturday when they take on McMurry (11-4-1, 5-3) in American Southwest Conference action at 2 p.m. at McMurry.
