Oct. 5, 2002 BELTON, Texas - Sophomore forward Chris Carroll's goal sent the Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor in American Southwest Conference action Saturday in Belton, Texas. Carroll's game winning goal came in the 31st minute of the game off an assist from sophomore Calvin Key. Sophomore James Burton scored HSU's first goal of the game in the 30th minute off an assist from junior Chase Stephens, while UMHB's only goal of the game came from Justin Spangler during the 43rd minute off of Mike Goos' corner kick. HSU moves to 3-1-1 in ASC play and 6-4-1 overall and UMHB drops to 1-4 in conference and 2-6-1 overall. The Cowboys will return to action when they host the University of Texas at Permian Basin Tuesday starting at 8 p.m. at Shelton Stadium. |
