Cowboys Fall To MC

CLINTON, Miss. - Mississippi College hit 11 of 13 3-point shots in the first half and Hardin-Simmons men's basketball never recovered in a 92-71 loss Monday evening at the A.E Wood Coliseum in Clinton, Miss in American Southwest Conference action.

Jonathan Collins banked in three 3-pointers in the opening minutes and MC had seven 3-pointers in the first six minutes of the game. HSU quickly fell behind by 15 and never got it to single digits the rest of the game. HSU trailed 46-31 at halftime, depite shooting 58 percent from the field.

HSU cut it to 12 on a couple of occasions in the second half, but MC answered each time.

Charlie Pannell led the Cowboys with a career-best 19 points, 15 coming in the second half. Marcus Smith had 14 and Steven Luckey added 13.

Collins led five Choctaws in double figures with 18 points. MC shot 57.6 for the game.

HSU fell to 4-4 overall and 3-2 in league play. MC improved to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in ASC action. The Cowboys are off until a Dec. 29 game at UT-Arlington.
