Cowboys Fall To Sam Houston State

HUNTSVILLE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team had a tough shooting night and fell to Division I Sam Houston State 79-41, Thursday night at the Johnson Coliseum in Huntsville.

The Bearkats dominated the Cowboys on the boards in the game 53-22 and HSU shot just 25.9 percent in the game. In the first half they made just 6-of-29 shots.

In the second half the Cowboys were better at 31 percent, but SHSU showed why it is the favorite to win the Southland Conference.

Mardochee Jean led the Cowboys with 10 points and eight rebounds and Ryan Bright had 15 points and 12 rebounds.

HSU (1-2) will return to action on Saturday when it hosts LeTourneau at 3 p.m. SHSU improved to 6-0 on the year.
