Feb. 6, 2003 KERRVILLE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team fell to Schreiner 70-66, Thursday evening in American Southwest Conference action in Kerrville. Bryan Conover led the Cowboys with 22 points and nine rebounds. Jason Eaker added 12 points and Len Williams had a season-best 10 points and eight rebounds. Conover's lay-up with 4:33 to go gave the Cowboys a 60-59 lead. It would be the last lead of the game as Jarel Hall and Joseph Davis hit consecutive lay-ups and the Mountaineers hit 6-of-9 free throws down the streatch. Brian Stickel led the Mountaineers with 18 points. The Cowboys fell to 4-16 with the loss and to 1-7 in conference play. Schreiner improved to 2-17 with the win and to 2-7 in conference play. HSU will play at Texas Lutheran at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
