Cougar tennis falls to Lady Mavericks

HOUSTON - The University of Houston tennis team lost its first match of the season Friday afternoon, falling to the University of Texas-Arlington Lady Mavericks 5-2 at the John E. Hoff Varsity Courts on the UH campus. Houston picked up two singles wins as number one Biljana Dimovska beat Monika Peciulionyte 6-2, 7-5 to remain unbeaten this season. The Cougars other win came from Yolandi Terblanche who picked up a 6-4. 6-1 win in the number three spot over UTA's Anete Rozkalne.
In doubles play the Cougars picked up one win as Terblanche and Kami Miller paired up to beat the team of Anete Rozkalne and Jitka Vetrovcova 8-1. The Mavericks picked up the doubles point by taking the Number one 9-8 (7-3) and two doubles 9-8 (7-5).
