Clark Earns All-Tournament Recognition

May 16, 2005

HOUSTON - After her strong performance in the Conference USA Softball Tournament, junior right fielder Brandi Clark was named to the C-USA All-Tournament Team by the attending media.

Clark turned in solid performances for Houston, helping the team to a 2-2 mark in the annual tournament, before the Cougars exited with a third-place finish.

In the tournament, Clark hit an impressive .417, reaching base safely in 5-of-12 at-bats, with two runs and an RBI. She also added five putouts with her play in right field.

Clark was the only batter in the conference to record a triple, which she did in the Cougars' second game against USF, and she also smacked a home run in the team's 3-1 victory over Southern Miss.

The All-Tournament honor for Clark marks the third straight season the Cougars have landed at least one player on the All-Tournament Team, and the first such honor in Clark's career.
