Two Softball Players Make All-American District VI Team

Houston, Texas - Today Verizon and CoSIDA announced their Academic District VI first and second teams for Division I Softball Team. Two University of Houston seniors were picked to be members of the team.

Riane Netardus a senior outfielder from Porter, Texas earned first-team honors. Netardus lead the Cougars in batting, averaging .347 for the year with 58 hits. She is majoring in psychology and is maintaining a 3.29 GPA.

The second-team choice by Verizon was senior Ali MCDougall from Surrey, British Columbia. McDougall started fifty games for the Cougars this season, batting .297 for the year. She had ten double and four homeruns as a core hitter for the team. McDougall is majoring in information technology and maintains a 3.22 GPA.
