Softball Heads to Charlotte For C-USA Road Series

April 4, 2003

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The University of Houston softball team will face Charlotte in a Conference USA road series this weekend. The Cougars (24-16, 6-3) will battle the 49ers (12-19, 3-8) in a doubleheader Saturday and a single game Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Phillips Sports Complex.

Charlotte is looking to break an eight-game losing streak with a win at their home field. The 49ers are coming off non-conference losses to rival UNC Greensboro Thursday. Houston leads the all-time series against the 49ers 4-2.

Junior pitcher Jamie Falco (10-6) leads the Cougar battery with a team-best 1.03 ERA in 101.2 innings of work this season. Third baseman Kristen Glowacz is hitting .345, leads Conference USA in doubles (11), is third in homeruns (six), and has not struck out in 31 games.
