Shelby Scott Named To C-USA All-Academic Team

HOUSTON - University of Houston junior goalkeeper (Mesquite, Texas/North Mesquite HS) was named to the Conference USA Women's Soccer All-Academic Team, the league office announced Wednesday.

Scott made 18 starts in goal this season with four shutouts, a goals against average of 2.15 and 122 saves.

She earned C-USA Defensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 17 after she made 11 saves in a 0-0 double overtime tie against LSU. She is Houston's all-time leader in saves and is tied for the all-time lead in shutouts.

She has a 3.89 GPA and is a psychology major in UH's Honor's College.

Scott was named CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine First Team Academic All-District VI on Nov. 1.

The C-USA All-Academic Team consists of 11 student-athletes that have earned a 3.2 cumulative GPA or better and are a starter or a key reserve on their respective team.
